This conceptual tool is designed to show the four basic types of culture models that we recognize in our consulting framework. Each type of culture provides a unique set of behavioral norms among the directors. Typically no board of directors is exclusively one culture. A board can have elements of all four cultures. However, there is usually a predominately culture.
